August 21, 2015 – What’s summer without a trip to a county fair? On Friday night we ventured out to the Erie County Fair, and did our own “taste of the fair.” Highlights were – very good vanilla ice cream, hand cut fries, fried dough with butter and cinnamon and sugar, a London broil sandwich, fried potato and cheese pierogi, and fried crawfish tails and excellent blackened shrimp over rice. The seafood and pierogi were the fan favorites on the night.
We also checked out the rabbit and cow pavilions, and the “Moo-ternity” ward. One of the cows had already had the calf, and the 250 pound baby looked less than amused to be being watched by all the fair-goers. Pig racing (and pig swimming) and watching a bit of the tractor pull rounded out the night.
