White Mountain Exploration

June 6, 2015 – We had a nice weekend and thought a trip to the mountains was in order. First up was lunch at diner in NH.  The little place was full at noon on a weekend day, but we got seats at the counter.  The coffee, corned beef hash, breakfast potatoes, and eggs benedict were all excellent.  We would definitely go back if we were in the area. Random hikes along the Kancamangus Highway included the Pine Bend Brook Trail, and another trail along a fire road.  The main trail areas were quite crowded, but there are a lot of smaller, less popular trails throughout the area.

We saw a vibrant sunset while driving home on I-495.

A drive through Maine and dinner at the Portsmouth Brewery, where we watched the Belmont Stakes (Triple Crown!) rounded out the day. We were glad to see a great sunset on the way home; since we were driving West we were able to watch the sky during the entire drive back.
