Flying to DC

April 4, 2014 – We took a day off work and gave ourselves a long weekend to explore DC and maybe see some cherry blossoms.  This was supposed to be the height of the Cherry Blossom Festival, but a very cold, rainy, and drawn-out winter has all of the trees confused.  While this meant we had to work a bit harder to find full blossoms, the crowds were also much less.

Reagan Airport
Our walk to Crystal City began at Reagan National Airport.
We landed and… immediately walked up and down the airport twice and through two parking garages in search of the walking trail to the hotel.  We eventually found the Four Mile Trail and enjoyed the sunset on the way to the hotel.  The hotel is also conveniently located near the Crystal City Mall.  We got dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill, one of our favorite chain restaurants.  Tony enjoyed a steak, and Louisa enjoyed one of the burgers, as well as fries and beer.
