Köln Quick Trip

September 15, 2013 – Our last day in Germany began with a breakfast buffet in our hotel.  We’ve been enjoying all the wonderful breads, cheeses, cold cuts and sausages at these breakfasts.  We left our bags at the hotel, and then hopped a train for a whirlwind trip of Köln.

Touring the Kölner Dom was a fun way to spend our final day in Germany.

The train ride is just about an hour, and soon we found ourselves standing inside the cathedral, listening to the sounds of the choir soaring through the space.

Who’s got two thumbs and about to get some dessert? This guy.

We walked down along the water and eventually settled on a small restaurant with a huge outdoor patio for lunch.  Soon it was time to catch the train back and begin our trek back across the ocean.  We loved our time in Germany, and greatly enjoyed our two weeks in that country.
