Trans-Siberian Orchestra

We were fortunate enough to snag tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, playing at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.  We originally planned to get a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, but traffic was prohibitive so we enjoyed a fairly quick dinner of Popeyes Chicken and fries.  And a biscuit – if you ever eat at Popeyes, you have to get the biscuits.

Our seats were high up, on the right side of the stage and very near the stage.  These were actually perfect for both hearing and seeing the show, though admittedly the laser light show looks different from the side.  However, we were close enough to feel the heat from the fire effects – although we couldn’t imagine being as close as the musicians.

The show itself was very good, almost 2.5 hours of nonstop music, lights, and effects, all woven around a central story.  The musicians seemed to be having a blast as well, grinning and running around and, in some cases, taking a seat in the audience before resuming their journey to whatever part of the arena they were originally going to.

Experiencing a TSO performance might definitely be a new Christmas tradition for us.
